1. Who We Are

PhoneRestore is operated by PhoneRestore Labs ("we," "us," "our"). We build tools that help people keep their phones working properly. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.

2. Our Privacy Commitment

We believe in minimal data collection. We follow these principles:

• We do not sell your personal data. Ever. To anyone. For any reason.
• We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising.
• We do not read your personal content — your messages, photos, browsing history, or files are yours.
• We collect only what's necessary to make PhoneRestore work.
• We do not display ads in our app.

3. What the App Does

PhoneRestore monitors and restores device settings only — things like WiFi status, volume levels, screen brightness, Bluetooth, and installed apps. It does not access, read, or store your personal content such as messages, photos, contacts, call logs, browsing history, or files.

4. Data We Collect

4a. Device Settings (App Users)

When you use PhoneRestore, we store a snapshot of your device settings (WiFi on/off, volume levels, brightness, installed app list, etc.) so we can restore them if something changes. This data is:

• Stored locally on your device
• If you enable caregiver pairing, synced to our secure servers (Google Firebase) so your caregiver can help remotely
• Never shared with anyone other than caregivers you explicitly invite
• Deletable at any time by uninstalling the app or requesting deletion

4b. Account Information

If you create an account or pair with a caregiver, we collect:

• Email address (for authentication only)
• A pairing code (to link caregiver and senior devices)

That's it. No name, phone number, address, age, or demographics required.

4c. Waitlist (Website Visitors)

If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address solely to notify you when PhoneRestore launches. We do not send marketing emails beyond launch updates, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

To be crystal clear, PhoneRestore does not collect, access, read, or store:

• Text messages or chat content
• Photos, videos, or documents
• Contacts or call logs
• Browsing history
• Location data
• Passwords or financial information
• Microphone or camera data
• Data from other apps

6. How We Store Data

Device settings snapshots are stored locally on your device. If caregiver features are enabled, data is synced via Google Firebase (Firestore + Authentication), hosted in the United States, using encryption in transit and at rest. We use Firebase's security rules to ensure only you and your authorized caregivers can access your data.

7. Who Can See Your Data

• You — always.
• Your caregivers — only if you explicitly pair with them. You can revoke access at any time.
• PhoneRestore Labs — we have technical access to Firebase for maintenance and support, but we do not review individual user data unless you ask us to for support purposes.
• Nobody else.

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate PhoneRestore:

• Google Firebase — authentication and data sync (subject to Google's Privacy Policy)
• Google Play Services — app distribution
• Kit (ConvertKit) — waitlist email collection only (subject to Kit's Privacy Policy)

We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.

9. Children's Privacy

PhoneRestore is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data only as long as you use PhoneRestore:

• Uninstall the app — local data is automatically deleted.
• Delete your account — all cloud data (Firebase) is permanently deleted within 30 days.
• Email us — request deletion of any data at any time.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data
• Delete your data
• Revoke caregiver access
• Unsubscribe from emails
• Request a copy of your data

12. Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you via the app or email. We will never weaken your privacy protections without your explicit consent.
